THE Japanese rest aunt in Cologne. The atmosphere is very pleasant, just Japanese. The food is outrageously good. We usually eat the Kintaro menu, where, starting with delicious alternating starters, miso soup, tempura, sashimi and sushi, many delicacies from Japanese cuisine are presented. My very special praise goes to Mr. Arakawa. He's really a sushi master.
Always happy!
Great food. Highly recommended, very high quality and level of Japanese food.
We ordered the menu and were absolutely delighted. The quality of the ingredients is fantastic and the atmosphere perfectly matches the traditional dishes. Whenever I'm back in Cologne, Kintaro will be the Japanese of choice.
We waited an hour and a half for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't overcrowded. The quality was ok, but nothing more. The warm dishes arrived cold, and the wasabi was already there with the sushi.
Now go to Kintaro for 10 years. Always great.
High quality food and nice family atmosphere.
The sushi is very high quality, the prices accordingly. Our server was friendly. We had to wait quite a long time (50 minutes) for our order but otherwise everything was great.
Very comfortable, in a nice, Japanese atmosphere. Delicious dishes
Absolute premium restaurant! Personal recommendation for sushi and Japanese cuisine classics. Great atmosphere and great art on the walls!
I have been there twice. Very high quality sushi, very authentic, every time some Japanese among the guests
Very good and friendly Japanese food restaurant.
Expensive
Nice service, yummy foods?
This restaurant has been here for a long time, Over 30 years. Japanese food here tastes good.
Japanese restaurant is right. Tasty
Top!
TLDR, the best authentic Japanese restaurant in Köln! I try to get a bar seat whenever I am here. The owner, Arakawa-san is a real pro at his craft. It's always a delight to watch him and his staff at work. The nigiri set Dekkaiko (€29) never fails to please my palate. The Matcha ice-cream is delicious as well, with the taste and texture of kakigori.
Very nice staff, best sushi, sashimi and other Japanese specialties - for us for many years Cologne's best Japanese restaurant! Table reservation strongly recommended!
Unfortunately we learned shortly before departure to the restaurant, that due to yesterday's storm some colleagues could not arrive. As a result, we were only 3 instead of 8 people. Nevertheless, we were friendly and the food was terrific. Many thanks again. We will be back!!
Excellent food. Freshly made. Great service and attention to detail. To if you have the choice.
The best Japanese restaurant that I have tried here in Germany with very traditional style of cooking and tasting, great menu with a huge sort of Japanese plates and extremely high quality. The staff is friendly and very professional and they also speak in Japanese! Highly recommended!!!
A shop where you can eat real Japanese food. It is delicious what you eat. My favorite is sushi, especially Toro is juicy also special fried chicken, mackerel also has oil and tasty. It is a shop I am looking forward to going to Cologne every time.
Fantastic!!!
I was able to enjoy a really tasty Japanese food while staying in Cologne. I think the price is also conscientious.
Best miso soup I ever had in Germany. Amazing restaurant and genuine service. Recommended
Very friendly hosts, delicious food and a nice atmosphere. We would like to come again
In my opinion the best sushi ? in all of Cologne. The first time I ate sushi here, I knew I'd never had real sushi before. The atmosphere is very pleasant and authentically Japanese. The prices are absolutely appropriate for the quality.
Small, cozy and the sushi is prepared with great attention to detail and perfection. I wouldn't recommend this for a quick bite to eat, instead sit down and enjoy :)
伝統的な日本料理のお店で、店主さんが北海道の人です!とても美味しい食べ物を作ることがある。 Very nice and intimate Japanese restaurant, finally something different than those imitation you find all around Köln. A corner of Japan in Germany, like snitching into an Izakaya. Try the Syake and the udon soup combined with a set of uramaki. Truly suggested, double thumbs up!
Good selection of good food.
Very nice Japanese food for a reasonable price.
Today the Japanese cuisine was tried for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Very tasty food, the staff is super friendly and attentive. Definitely recommendable.
Helpful staff, getting us a big table for the whole group. Great food.
Very nice Japanese restaurant! Maybe a bit pricey and the service could be more friendly..
Excellent!
Best Sushi in Cologne! Authentic Japanese Sushi & Cuisine - means if they don't serve it in Tokyo, you won't find it here. Very subtle flavors that are balanced with one another. You won't find deep fried rolls smothered in Eel Sauce here. Always very fresh fish, great service, in short perfection.
I had a great Sushi Box the other day at this simple restaurant - which I'd more prefer than those 'kitchy' chinese or thai place around. I would def. comeback for dinner!
best suhi in koln!
Amongst the best if the THE best when it comes to Japanese food in Cologne. Has incredible quality of ingredients even in the simplest dish - that of course is a major factor in japanese cooking. The cook knows all slicing techniques, the Sushi and Sashimi is awesome. It is slightly better than the other top restaurants in Cologne (e.g. Momotaro) in terms of food, but much better in location: Lot of space at the table and also very, very fine art at the walls. The owner couple is herself being a local from Cologne and himself a Japanese - what better mix can you get in Cologne for a japanese restaurant? In the summer you can sit outside and it is quiet there too - I really like it there!
Best sushi restaurant in Germany.
This is our new discovery of the month, and probably the best Sushi place we know in Cologne so far. The food is superb, and the variety definitely meets expectations. It is attended by japanese people, and it is always better if you call in advance to reserve a table, because most likely it is going to be packed. We had bit of trouble reading the Menu, it is almost everything in Japanese, with small descriptions in German. If you go, make sure you are not in a hurry, because food is not served as fast as you might be expecting. I would say it could take from 20 to 25 minutes, depending on the order, and the day, of course. But the place it is definitely recommended.
